This was one the last places on my list of Manhattan steakhouses to try and it did not disappoint.
I loved the ambiance. Some might say it’s dated by I appreciate the classic style and decor. If you’re bringing the kids don’t sit in a booth unless you’re cool with all of the pin up era nudity, which I am.
My friend and I ordered the porterhouse for 2, goose fat potatoes, drunken mushrooms, black truffle creamed spinach. I’m generally not a fan of peppercorn crust but they only do 1 side so I figured it wouldn’t be too overwhelming and went with the flow. It was perfect. Everything was perfect. The goose fat potatoes were the crispiest I have ever had.
Overall I wouldn’t say that the appetizer or dessert selections were too enticing. I would have liked bacon but the way it was prepared seemed very excessive so I skipped it. It seemed more like bacon for people who don’t want to taste the bacon. The bananas foster baked Alaska was interesting. My friend was blown away by it so I guess we will just agree to disagree. It wasn’t bad I just didn’t personally love it. I will definitely be revisiting.
We took our oldest out for dinner for his birthday, and the service and food were exceptional. The filet mignon with the blue cheese crust was, by far, the best dish at the table. My husband ordered the Brussels and they had a little sweet glaze on them: delicious! This was the perfect evening to welcome ourselves to NYC for the holiday. You won’t be disappointed!
Food was pretty good, I think for the price point the steak could have been better. However the service/staff was amazing, and the atmosphere was nice and chill. Overall a great experience!!
