Stopped in on a rainy Saturday as our first visit. Was not crowded and we had impeccable service from our great waitress/bartender McKenzie. Smoked Gouda Mac and cheese was amazing, and the burnt ends were probably the best I’ve ever had. Also tried the French dip which did not disappoint. Will definitely be back!
Pretty good.. Nice place. I stopped in last evening with some friends and a gaggle of 4 legged critters on the back patio.
The first thing I noticed while walking into and then through the restaurant was that it was clean, so was the patio. Impeccably clean. That's always a plus, especially at a place that allows animals on the property.
The patio is newly built and there are tables for individuals as well as a long counter top table in a covered area that was perfect for our group of 6-7. In addition the patio is built on a black top which may be a little to hot for dogs during the summer in the portion that's out in the sun.
I didn't catch our servers name but he was friendly and attentive to our meals and drinks. I had a Smartmouth Amber Ale and ordered the Pulled BBQ sandwich which comes with a little cup of slaw and one side order, I chose Fries. Other sides include collards, mac & cheese, hush puppies, etc. About 5-10 minutes after I ordered I received my meal. Portion sizes were excellent and the BBQ had a slight hint of spice/vinegar that was definitely not overpowering. I decided to eat it as is, without adding any over the various sauces that were available. It was good if not spectacular BBQ. The fries were just string fries with some seasoning.
All in all I liked the place and am definitely looking forward to checking out some other menu items on the next visit. They're located on Hampton Blvd near ODU. Check them out.
